The Baraboo Seed Library is a project of the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library
and the Sauk County Master Gardener Association.

Goals of the Seed Library:

  • Help people to garden and grow some of their own food.
  • Encourage people to save seeds for plants that preserve plant genetic diversity, are locally adapted, and that respond positively to climate change.
  • Help people adopt gardening practices that are environmentally sustainable.
  • Educate people about protecting our pollinators.

Seeds in the Baraboo Seed Library have been donated by local gardeners or organizations, provided by the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library, or purchased through a grant from the Sauk County Master Gardener Association.

The Baraboo Seed Library opens April 1, 2024. Come in to the library to browse the available seeds!

It's easy! Browse for the seeds you want, fill out a slip, and enjoy gardening with your new seeds! Limit 5 seed packets per household.
