We are looking for Summer 2022 Teen Volunteers! You may download both forms here and here.

BOTH forms must be returned to the library TOGETHER by MONDAY, MAY 2, 2022.

You may also pick up both forms in the Youth Services Department.

April Programs

 

Pass the Canvas

Tuesday, April 5, 4 pm-5 pm

Join in on this collaborate art project. Each teen will get a canvas to begin, and after a few minutes, each canvas will be passed around the room to make several unique art pieces to decorate the Teen Space.

Magic: The Gathering Club

Friday, April 8, 3:30-5:45 pm

Join us for our  Magic: The Gathering Club, which will meet several times a month, by popular demand. This will be a time for teens to play the game with other teens in a relaxed atmosphere, where they can ask questions and learn about the game. A local volunteer and expert will be on hand to answer questions about the game. Beginners  are welcome, as well as more advanced players.  Please call the library or email beth@csmpl.org with any questions you may have.

Premade decks will be available for players to use. Freebies and prizes are often given out at our club meetings.

Board Game Day

Tuesday, April 12, 4 pm-5 pm

Join us for an hour of playing new board games. There will be many games  available to play, or you can bring your favorite from home.

Flower Crowns and Wreaths

Tuesday, April 19, 4 pm-5 pm

We will be celebrating spring by learning how to make flower crowns and wreaths out of artificial flowers.

An Afternoon at the Zoo

Tuesday, April 26, 4 pm-5 pm

Hang out with us at Ochsner Park Zoo where we will walk around and hang out, and afterwards, we will make a snack in the park.  We will meet at Ochsner Park Zoo for this program.

Teen Book Club (April's Selection: Dry by Neal Shusterman)

Friday, April 29, 4 pm-5 pm

By popular demand, a book club just for teens (anybody in grades 6-12) will be available on every fourth Friday of the month, from 4:00-5:00 pm at the library. Teens will have the opportunity to choose books that are discussed, as well as participate in discussions in a safe and welcoming environment. Snacks will be provided.

Cosplay Day

Tuesday, May 3, 4 pm-5 pm

Show off your favorite cosplay costume for our cosplay day! At this program, we will share tips for making elements of cosplay styles, we will make a cosplay-related craft, and make our own cosplay-related snack. (Please keep cosplay appropriate, and do not bring weapons into the library.)

Talent Show

Tuesday, May 10, 4 pm-5 pm

Baraboo teens are so talented! Show off your talents at our talent show. You can sing, dance, read poetry, show off a cool skill, show off your art, or highlight a unique ability that you have.  We would love to feature you and your talents for our assembled audience.

Craft Workshop/Maker Day

Tuesday, May 17, 4 pm-5 pm

The library is full of things to inspire you to create. We will have paint, string, embroidery hoops, sewing projects, and many other tools and supplies you need to create the project of your dreams. You may also bring your own supplies from home to create found objects art or musical instruments.

Virtual Author Visit

Joining this special Teen Tuesday event is author Tahnee Perry, who has published two books in the exciting new dystopian "Rising Revolution" trilogy. Learn about the writing and publishing process from a successful author!

Writer Workshop

Tuesday, May 31, 4 pm-5 pm

This Teen Tuesday is all about creative writing. Whether you are a poet, a fiction writer, a comics creator, or anything in between, this is the program for you! We will discuss the writing process, where we get inspiration, bounce ideas off of one another, and share work (if you choose). Each attendee will recieve a composition notebook that we will decorate.
