Scarecrow Creation Workshop @ Ochsner Park

Create a scarecrow during this workshop. The library will provide enough supplies for one scarecrow per family/group. Participants supply the design elements and creativity. Space is limited, so pre-registration is REQUIRED to attend the Scarecrow Creation Workshop

 

Scarecrows on Parade

September 18 - October 10

All ages, including businesses, are welcome.

Create and display a scarecrow and be part of our community-wide “Scarecrows on  Parade!”  Display your scarecrow in your yard or at Ochsner Zoo, from September 18 - October 10.You can pick up a registration form in person at the Youth Services desk  starting Monday, August 29. You do need to register in person, so you can    receive the number that will be displayed on your scarecrow creation. You do not need to attend the scarecrow workshop to participate in the “Scarecrows on Parade.”

Registered scarecrows will be judged by library staff on Wednesday, September 28.  Prizes will be awarded in five categories: Silliest, Most Creative, Best Book Character, People’s Choice, and Best Business. The prize is a $25 Chamber of Commerce gift card that can be used at over 130 different Baraboo businesses. This program is co-sponsored by the Baraboo Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
